Render-Switcher is a simple control tool for Android graphics. It lets you choose how individual apps draw their screens by switching between Vulkan and OpenGL. Render-Switcher is delivered as a module for Magisk, KernelSU, and APatch, and it includes Zygisk support, a WebUI control panel, and a CLI for advanced users.
This guide is written for everyday computer users. You do not need programming knowledge. You use a Windows computer to download the release file and move it to your Android device. Then you install the module with the module manager already present on your device and use the WebUI to switch renderers per app.
Visit this link to download the application: Render-Switcher Releases.
The link opens the official Render-Switcher Releases page. Keep the downloaded release file in your Windows Downloads folder. Do not rename, unpack, or edit the file unless a step below tells you to do so.
Use your Windows computer as the download and transfer station. The Render-Switcher module itself runs on Android, and your Windows PC helps you get the release file onto your phone or tablet safely.
What you need:
Follow these steps:
You do not need to compile anything on Windows. You do not need to use developer tools. The Windows part is finished once the release file is copied to your Android device.
Now move to your Android device. Keep the device charged and close other apps if you want a smoother install.

After the device restarts, Render-Switcher is active. Zygisk support is included, so the per-app switching works with apps that normally start before you open them. Some module managers show a Zygisk toggle; leave it enabled so Render-Switcher can apply its per-app rules.
The main idea behind Render-Switcher is simple: each app can use a different graphics renderer. Some apps behave better with Vulkan, while others are more stable or smoother with OpenGL. Instead of changing the whole device, you change one app at a time.
To switch a renderer:
Your choices are remembered. When you open that app in the future, Render-Switcher applies the same renderer automatically. Other apps keep their own settings, so a change for one app never surprises you in another.
The WebUI is the easiest way to use Render-Switcher. It is a small local page served by the module, so it works without an internet connection.
If the WebUI does not open on the first try, close the module manager and open it again. Module managers sometimes need a fresh start before the local page responds.
The command line interface is optional. If you are comfortable with a terminal app on Android, you can list apps, check current settings, and apply renderer changes with short commands. The CLI uses the same saved configuration as the WebUI, so anything you change in one place appears in the other.
Everyday users can ignore this section entirely. The WebUI covers every common task.
Render-Switcher is packaged for three popular module managers:
Use only one module manager at a time. Installing the same module through two different managers can create confusing results.
When a newer release appears on the download page, repeat the Windows transfer steps and install the new file over the old one. Your saved per-app choices stay in place after an update. Reboot after the update finishes so every app picks up the newest behavior.
If you want to remove Render-Switcher, open your module manager, find the module, and choose Remove. Reboot the device afterward. Apps return to their default rendering behavior once the module is gone, and no leftover settings remain on your device.
Change one app at a time and test it before moving on. Keep a note of the original setting for each app you edit so you can return to it quickly. Avoid changing system apps unless you have a clear reason and a recent backup. Use the official download link every time so you always receive the authentic release file.
Questions, bug reports, and feature ideas belong on the repository page. Include your module manager, your Android version, and the exact app you were changing when something went wrong. Clear details make problems much faster to solve.
